How to submit your #SpeakArabic story
All you have to do is record yourself answering the questions below with a smartphone or webcam. QFI will edit them and add animations and subtitles.
- Introduce yourself! Where are you from? What year are you in school?
- Why are you learning Arabic?
- How has learning Arabic impacted your life?
- What do you hope to do with Arabic in the future?
- In your opinion, what’s the coolest thing about the Arabic language?
- Do you notice any similarities between Arabic and other languages or cultures?
- What advice would you give to students considering studying Arabic?
Note: these are just suggestions, and you don’t need to answer all of them.
Pro tips for making a great video:
- Keep it to about two minutes
- Record videos horizontally
- Avoid noisy backgrounds, dimly lit areas, and backlighting to ensure crisp audio and clear visuals
- QFI will divide each of your answers into separate clips, so if you need to redo an answer, you don’t have to start filming all over again
- Restate the interview question in your answers (“I am learning Arabic because…”, “Arabic is cool because…” etc.)
- If using an iPhone 13/14, make sure your camera is set for high efficiency and that video is set to 4K.
- Interviews can be recorded in any language (English, Arabic, Spanish, etc.)
- Attach some photos to your submission to visually enhance your story
